ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ivan Krastins has been conducting his specialised courses on analysis and trading of the futures, currency, stock and options market since the early 1980s. His courses and workshops have been attended by market analysts, fund managers, private investors, stock and futures brokers, as well as traders from various futures exchanges. Ivan has presented his courses in the USA, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand.

He has conducted his courses through organisations such as the Institute of Banking and Finance (Singapore), the Malaysian Stock Brokers Association and the Securities Institute of Australia, to mention a few, as well as in-house for brokers such as Nomura (Hong Kong), NationsBank, Commerz Bank, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and the Arab-Malaysia Banking Group amongst others.

In the highly regarded United States Stock, Option and Commodity Trading Championship in 1984, his performance was acclaimed by the Australian Financial Review as "... a record for an overseas competitor". In 1995, Ivan was honoured by being invited to be the only keynote speaker from Australia at the International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA) annual conference in San Francisco. Other speakers at the conference included well known traders and analysts such as Steve Nisson, Ed Seykota and John Bollinger.

Ivan has also been featured on Asia Business News (Singapore) and profiled in the Australian magazine - Your Trading Edge.

The original, hard copy, of his book - Listen to the Market - was first published by McGraw-Hill in 1991. It is still available and is currently enjoying its fifth print run. It has even been used as a prescribed text in universities. Listen to the Market has sold worldwide, and has become a standard with many traders and analysts, both private as well as corporate.

Ivan was a founding member of the Australian Technical Analysts Association (ATAA), sitting on the board for several years, as well as being the editor of their regular newsletter.
